Paysail uses stablecoins to help businesses make cross-border payments and pay invoices.
Founded in 2020 by Nicole Alonso and Liam Brennan-Burke, Paysail is a San Francisco-based payments infrastructure provider using stablecoins. It raised USD 4 million in seed funding in January 2022, led by Uncork Capital, with Mischief Capital Management, Pear VC, Tribe Capital, and individual investors participating. The service uses Celo’s CUSD to pay invoices, shorten cross-border payment processes, and reduce fees by removing intermediaries. The company planned to expand support for other stablecoins and hire engineering, sales, and legal staff.
