Founded in 1926 and based in Bobigny, France, Peters Surgical SAS was started by two Peters brothers and expanded from probes into surgical sutures. In March 2024 Advanced Medical Solutions Group plc agreed to fully acquire the company from Eurazeo PME for about EUR 141.4 million, and the deal was completed in July 2024. The company runs five manufacturing sites in France, Germany, India, Algeria, and Thailand, and Thierry Herbreteau is CEO.
