Founded in 1976 and based on the West Coast of the US, Photoworks Inc., formerly Seattle FilmWorks, offered customized digitally printed photo cards for occasions from baby showers to weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. It also sold personalized products such as mugs, mousepads, calendars, books and home décor. AG Interactive acquired the company in 2008, and it closed in 2011 following its acquisition by Shutterfly Inc. In February 2000 it raised USD 15 million from Orca Bay Partners and Madrona Venture Group.
