Primmune Therapeutics develops oral TLR7 agonist therapies to treat cancers linked to viral infections.
Founded in 2017 by Jim Appleman and Paulo Rangel, Primmune Therapeutics develops therapies that activate plasmacytoid dendritic cells through the TLR7 pathway. Its lead candidate, PRTX007, is an oral TLR7 agonist aimed at HPV-related oropharyngeal cancers and hepatocellular carcinoma. In January 2026 the company raised USD 8.6 million in Series B funding from Oberland Capital, Bioqube Ventures and Samsara BioCapital, which will support clinical development of PRTX007 and a Phase 2 study in melanoma patients.
