Founded in 2018 by Dev Jain and based in Quebec, RailVision Analytics provides data services that use visual sensors to interpret rail equipment data. Its EcoRail platform analyzes locomotive data and provides recommendations on braking, throttle, and train handling, with aims including fuel savings and equipment failure forecasting. Customers include Via Rail Canada, Metrolinx, Transport Canada, and Port Montreal. In November 2022, it raised CAD 5.5 million in seed funding led by Trucks Venture Capital, with participation from BlackHorn Ventures, Incite Ventures, Measured Ventures, and MUUS.
