Stockholm firm turning used cotton and cellulose textiles into pulp for regenerated fibres; Altor bought its remaining assets in 2024.
Founded in 2012 by Christofer Lindgren, Gunnar Henriksson, Malcolm Norlin and Mikael Lindstrom, Re:NewCell AB is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Its technology breaks down used cotton and other cellulose-based fabrics into pulp, a substitute for raw materials such as cotton, oil or wood in viscose, lyocell and other regenerated fibres. In June 2024, Altor acquired the remaining assets after the company's bankruptcy, and it will be renamed Circulose.
