Renewable Metals recovers critical minerals from end-of-life lithium batteries.
Founded in 2020 in Australia, Renewable Metals develops an alkali-based process to recover lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, and manganese from end-of-life batteries. Its process is designed for different battery chemistries, including lithium iron phosphate, without first processing batteries into black mass. The company serves businesses in the battery supply chain, with a focus on Australia, Europe, and North America. In April 2026, it raised AUD12 million in Series A funding led by Clean Energy Finance Corporation to support its Kewdale demonstration plant and a planned battery plant in the Hunter region.
