Founded in 2019 in Jerusalem, Israel, SMT Labs Ltd releases sterile male mosquitoes to lower populations of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, which transmit Dengue and Zika. Its proprietary optics, computer vision and automation make the technique practical in urban and outdoor settings, with customers including municipal governments and commercial entities. Vic Levitin is CEO, alongside founder Ariel Livne. The company raised USD 3.000 mn in a Seed round led by Trust Ventures on March 1, 2021.
