Steady Energy develops small modular reactors for low-carbon district heating.
Founded in 2023 and based in Finland, Steady Energy is a spin-out of VTT Technical Research Center of Finland. It develops the LDR-50, a small modular reactor designed to provide 50 MW of low-carbon heat for buildings, cities, and industrial uses. In 2025, the company raised EUR 26 million to develop a pilot heating plant in Helsinki. CEO Tommi Nyman led the company as of 2023.
