Terracle develops recycled materials from plastic waste using depolymerization technology.
Founded in Busan, South Korea, in 2021, Terracle uses depolymerization to recycle plastic waste into materials including terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. The process is designed to preserve material quality and operate at low temperatures and atmospheric pressure. In March 2024, the company raised KRW 10.5 billion in Series A funding led by Envisioning Partners, DSC Investment, Hyundai Motor Zero One, Korea Development Bank, and Schmidt. It plans to build a larger-capacity depolymerization facility.
