Vexlum develops VECSEL semiconductor lasers for applications including quantum technology, medicine, optical communications, and industrial processing. Founded in 2017 in Tampere, Finland, it was co-founded by Jussi-Pekka Penttinen and Mircea Guina. In February 2026, it raised EUR 6.00 mn in funding, including a EUR 2.40 mn grant from the European Innovation Council. The funding will support production and development of quantum technology applications.
