Founded in 2007 in California as eChromics, the company was renamed Soladigm and now operates as View. It develops and manufactures smart glass that adjusts to ambient conditions to manage natural light, heat and glare, with the aim of reducing building energy use. Its offerings also include glass-break monitoring software. In November 2020, it agreed to merge with CF Finance Acquisition Corp. II for USD 1.6 billion; in January 2021, it raised USD 200 million in PIPE funding led by GIC as part of USD 500 million in equity financing.
