Founded in 2021 and based in Finland, Volare is a VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland spinoff that converts agricultural, brewery, and mill waste into protein and lipids. It uses black soldier fly technology to produce ingredients for fish feed and pet food. In 2025, the company raised EUR 26 million to build an insect protein production plant in Pori, Finland.
