Winter Farm uses controlled-environment vertical farming to grow strawberries and other off-season crops.
Founded in 2018 by Yves Daoust and based in Quebec, Canada, Winter Farm develops vertical agriculture technology for growing off-season produce in controlled environments without pesticides. Its Ferme d'Hiver solution integrates vertical farming into existing agricultural operations, including production of Fraise d'Hiver strawberries. In December 2022, it raised CAD 46 million from the Quebec Government Office and Investissement Québec, including Capital Financière Agricole, Desjardins Capital, Farm Credit Canada, and other investors.
