Founded in 2014 by Luis Chavez (CEO), Comunidad de Préstamos, S.A.P.I. de C.V. operates the Yo Te Presto website. It uses a proprietary scoring methodology to set interest rates and crowdfund loans from retail and institutional investors. In January 2019 the company raised USD 1.8 million in venture funding led by VARIV Capital, with participation from Redwood Ventures and Tonk Capital.
